Trending in the Bathroom | Malden MA | Derry NH | Halco Showroom
Every year designers across the country are asked to share what design elements and products they see trending in master bathrooms. Here are a few that were listed…
- Freestanding Tubs – Although tubs are becoming less popular, when homeowners do opt for a tub it is almost always freestanding. They offer a strong design accent and are usually kept a neutral white.
- Porcelain Tile – Consumers are preferring less grout, opting for larger more rectangular sizes over square. The styles are showing natural stones featuring linear striations to add appeal. With natural stones, wood plank tile is showing up. This offers fun, universal style that can be modern, traditional, masculine or feminine. As an added luxury feature, many are seeking radiant flooring in the bathroom. Because of the small space, it’s very cost effective.
- Vanities Transformed – Adding class to the master bathroom just got easier with furniture-look vanities. A simple design that adds great dynamic. Consumers are requesting taller vanities for easier access in addition to organizational accessories and lots of drawers. As far as sinks go, round and oval shapes are less requested and being replaced with vessel and rectangular sinks.
- Large Walk-In Showers – These will always offer luxury to any master bath. Increasingly they’ll become zero-entry with frameless glass. The idea that “less-is-more” rings true in this situation. Inside the shower cut out shelving for products creates a clean, streamlined appearance. Steam is also becoming a popular request among consumers.
- Frosted Glass – featured on entry doors, this glass offers privacy and natural light at the same time as well as creating an inviting and open space.
- Shades of Gray – a color that has been and will always be a classic for any space, gray offers a clean, crisp look that offers longevity in design. Natural, calming tone is a perfect fit for a bathroom where most duties involve relaxing after or before a long day. Paired with white, any space can be given a clean, crisp look.
- Expanded Lighting Options – Chandeliers, sconces, drum shades and LED lights are all in high demand for bathrooms. These fixtures add ambiance to the space that recessed lighting does not. A great feature that can be added is dimmers which offer a great option for night lighting. Wireless capability is another request as technology advances in each aspect of the home.
- Lastly, Recycled Material – Every consumer wants their space to be unique and that is exactly what this offers. Using items out of their original purpose creates a grand statement and offers that extra wow-factor everyone is looking for.
